2021.12.03 00:10 Lottoden MSI Coreliquid 240 AIO Help

Hello hello again, I'm out looking for advice once more. I recently purchased an MSI 240r AIO and I was extremely happy with the purchase, because I got it at a great price and the reviews were solid across the board. However, before assembling my build, I did a bit more research and the product has got me anxious a tad bit.
I was going to mount the thing on the top since my case comes with 3 fans on the front already, the case is an MSI 110r, but I recently learned the pump for the AIO is mounted on the radiator, which makes me concerned about the air bubbles it would produce. Should I mount it on the front of the computer to fix the problem?
Another question I have is if this cooler can handle a Ryzen 7 5800x. Once again, got a great deal on the thing and I really want the build to work out well, but I've seen some reports that although this cooler works well at first, it might not be able to handle the heat output of the product after some time. What should I do?
TLDR; Top mount or Front mount for the 240r considering the pump is on the radiator? Will the cooler be able to handle the 5800x?

2021.12.03 00:10 Conservativeprick FTC Sues to Block $40 Billion Semiconductor Chip Merger

"The Federal Trade Commission today sued to block U.S. chip supplier Nvidia Corp.’s $40 billion acquisition of U.K. chip design provider Arm Ltd. Semiconductor chips power the computers and technologies that are essential to our modern economy and society. The proposed vertical deal would give one of the largest chip companies control over the computing technology and designs that rival firms rely on to develop their own competing chips. The FTC’s complaint alleges that the combined firm would have the means and incentive to stifle innovative next-generation technologies, including those used to run datacenters and driver-assistance systems in cars.
“The FTC is suing to block the largest semiconductor chip merger in history to prevent a chip conglomerate from stifling the innovation pipeline for next-generation technologies,” said FTC Bureau of Competition Director Holly Vedova. “Tomorrow’s technologies depend on preserving today’s competitive, cutting-edge chip markets. This proposed deal would distort Arm’s incentives in chip markets and allow the combined firm to unfairly undermine Nvidia’s rivals. The FTC’s lawsuit should send a strong signal that we will act aggressively to protect our critical infrastructure markets from illegal vertical mergers that have far-reaching and damaging effects on future innovations.”

2021.12.03 00:10 Lugubriousmanatee Anybody ever gotten an offer from a wholesaler before? How often do they fall through?

I'm assuming this is a wholesaler, it's an unsolicited offer, a long close, a weird number (like $ XXX,XXX.21 -- literally, 21 cents). The funny thing is, it's actually pretty close to what I think this parcel is worth, and it's kind of tempting to accept the offer to see what happens. What land mines am I missing?

2021.12.03 00:10 jacktenh Tiebreaker Discussion

I’m curious what people think about a tie breaker for tournaments being who has more eagles/albatrosses in a round.
For example, I shot -11 in the tournament (not my best round, it happens) but I got kicked out of the qualifiers by others who shot -11 because they had 3 eagles and I had 2.
I have been on both sides of this, and sometimes I feel as though a more consistent player should be rewarded, but on the other hand, having more eagles/albatrosses than another player means that player had to grind for it a little harder when it counts, to make it into the qualifier. Let me know what you all think!

2021.12.03 00:10 Living-Accident94 Man’s Search for Meaning

Long before I was sucked into gambling I was addicted to reading. I love a good book, especially philosophical books. I’m not religious but I even painstakingly trudged through the Bible because of how important it is to humankind. It did have some pretty great points honestly.
One book that I’ve since gone back to reread since quitting is Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl. I love this book. I’m actually quite surprised it isn’t a required read in American curriculum. I guess it would probably make the evangelical parents upset considering it encourages existentialism. It’s a short read and I recommend it to everyone. Anyways, let’s get into why it will help you.
Even from the foreword it reads as a “self-help” book in a way. Two awesome quotes are used back to back in the foreword that have been amazingly transformative for me:
To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering. -Nietzsche
“He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how.” -Nietzsche
Nietzsche killed it with these quotes. They are very applicable to addiction. We all suffer from gambling addiction. To overcome the addiction and begin moving towards happiness we absolutely must find meaning in that suffering. It’s all personal but the meaning I find related to quitting gambling is that I have grown and learned a lesson by having gone through the addictive period. I am now much more thankful for the life and things I have now that I am not consumed by gambling. I would not otherwise have this perspective. The second quote is rather powerful in our situation. We don’t know how we will move forward from our addiction, especially at first. How will we repay our debts? How will we make it up to our family? How will we watch sports again? How will we continue on living? These are tough questions, and to answer these questions we need to focus on the “why.” Why are you quitting? Because you love yourself and your family and you don’t want to end up homeless, dead, or in jail. Once you internalize that, the “hows” get figured out.
I don’t want to spoil anything, but the book itself elaborates on those principles extensively. Viktor Frankl survived Auschwitz and other concentration camps by basically using those principles. The point of the book is not for you to feel better about yourself or compare yourself to Frankl. He doesn’t want that. He just wants to help by disseminating ideas that worked for him, even in the most dire of circumstances. Essentially, you must identify within yourself some type of meaning to life. It doesn’t come from external pursuits, it comes from you. You decide what is important to you, and then you make it your mission to chase that. Happiness comes from ascribing meaning to life in whatever fashion you see fit. Money is an external pursuit and is not a meaning. Winning bets is an external pursuit and is not a meaning. A meaning is being a better person than you were yesterday, or loving someone (this was Frankl’s meaning).
Ultimately, the meaning of life is whatever internal pursuit you decide it to be. So search for that meaning, start chasing it, and leave everything else (especially gambling) behind.

2021.12.03 00:10 yungmatttheman I got scammed & would like to pay it forward so you don't have to!

Long story short, i met this guy named "Roland" on Fiverr. He basically said he was selling a walmart account for $2000. Since my last LLC was stuck in nimbo and walmart never got back to me i went searching around for people who were selling an approved account. Most people ranged from 7K-15K so 2K was a steal. Anyways instead of paying on fiverr cause he didn't want to do a custom order since fiverr takes alot of fees we decided to do payoneer. I paid the 2K, later he comes back saying that his team said they wouldn't give it to me because the payment was to cheap so he wanted another 2K. So i was like fine whatver 4K is still reasonable. Here's where i went wrong, i told him i was giving it to a team who was charging for automation services that had a profit share. He told me he would do the automation part for 6K for a year with no profit share. I paid him through friends and family half of it since i felt like i could trust him and the other half through payoneer. So in total i spent 10-11K on this and he then said the process will take 30 days to give me the account but when we talked on fiverr he told me he already had it ready. I became upset and texted him asking where it was. He stop replying back to me. Few days later i opened charge backs on payoneer, unfortunelty since i paid about 3K on paypal i was out that money due to paying with friends and family. Payoneer also sucks because when i first told them about the service not being rendered they said they were unable to help me and told me to go talk to the seller. So that lead me to opening a charge back. Now he started talking to me again, asking me for more money to give me the account when i have repeatly told him to show proof of work. It's like this guy keeps making up prices for random things i've never heard of. First the store, then automation, then API intergration.. He has consitently lied and told me in the past i could get a refund anytime and that he wasn't a scammer. He continues to say the store is ready for transfer but yet can't show proof of work and depends himself by saying " I make so much money from e com, that there's no reason for me to scam" Finally told him, either you provide me a proof of work that was actually done, or a full refund stop bothering me.
If you see any of these emails run:
jordonlinda3@gmail.com, imalex330@gmail.com, wamboikairu@gmail.com, ogkim@yahoo.com
I've also attached some screenshots of our texts so you can see how big of a clown he is. Anyways, I have accepted i wasn't using my brain and thinking about how much potiential walmart's platform could give me. However, you win some and lose some. There is a high chance i may not win this battle but you can't give up. Just be careful paying with money transfer sites because most of the time your out of luck when the money goes over. I think these scammers know that since the credit card companies are disputing the service of the money being transfered as opposed as the merchant not giving you the product.

If you read this far, I hope you have a good rest of your year and a great day :) Stay postive out there!

2021.12.03 00:10 Walesy17 CPU at 63°C being idle, downloading games on steam.

Hello all, I'm new to the whole PC stuff and i was wondering whether my AIO cooler and CPU should be displaying that the CPU temp if 60 to 65 degrees when idle and only downloading steam games? No other windows, tabs, or applications are running besides my RGB and NZXT software in the minimised system tray.
Again i do not know whether it is normal or anything. But it usually sits around 29-32 degrees celsius when idle with nothing running and only ramps up to high temps when downloading.
I have only just got this PC and now i am downloading games, so i am skeptical whether i may of installed it improper or something. Yet to find out its temp and performance under a game work load..
Using my NZXT software under PC monitoring it claims that the CPU is on: 5% CPU load, temp currently 62°C, clock speed jumping between from 3840MHz to 4900MHz, Fans at 2716 RPM.
Any help will be much appreciated!! My CPU and CPU Cooler are listed below..
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900x Processor
CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken Z73 RGB 360mm AIO Liquod CPU Cooler
